The Quest for Vegan Friendly

If you have a vegan friend then you’d know how hard it is to find a restaurant that caters for them.

Waiter scans the menu and show dishes without meat. Then your friend tells them they’re vegan not vegetarian so the waiter calls for the manager who now scans the menu and says, ‘We could do something like some veg or chips?’ Have you been there before?  If so you’ll feel our pain.

January is Veganuary and London has some great places to try. And if you are a good caring friend maybe you can give some places a go the next time you meet up with your vegan pals!

We visited The Gate. Tucked away and set in what was once the studio of artist Sir Frank Brangwyn, The Gate has a menu with a range of vegan options. We were greeted by candles flickering on the tables. It’s a small space so gave it an intimate feel. The service was great so we could see why it’s such a destination for all – vegetarian, vegan or non.

This January is Veganuary and some of you might have started the challenge of ‘Try Vegan’. It’s aim is to reduce the suffering of animals by inspiring and supporting people across the globe to go vegan for the month of January. The website is packed full of vegan recipes and places to eat out (chain restaurants included).

Would you try vegan? If you’ve visited any of the restaurants above, what did you think?
